Over the past couple of years, the national headlines have been filled with various hashtags concerning whose lives matter: #blacklivesmatter, #bluelivesmatter, #alllivesmatter,#livesmatter have all become familiar mantras when writing and chants when marching about a very real problem we have in our society. Personally I don't believe the problem began in Ferguson or Baltimore or New York. The incidents that happened in each of these cities are simply the fruit of a much deeper issue. The root issue is that as a society we no longer value life. ALL LIFE. This root has grown deep and strong as America has continued to move away from belief in God and His Word.
"God said, Let Us [Father, Son, and Holy Spirit] make mankind in Our image, after Our likeness..."
God created life in His image. The founding Fathers of our nation affirmed this. In the Declaration of Independence they declared, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these arelife, liberty and the pursuit of happiness—that to secure these rights, governments are instituted among men.”
YES - #ALLLIVESMATTER! Not because it is politically correct - but because God has declared it to be so! GOD SAYS ALL LIVES MATTER!
This is one of the reasons (among many) why I am unapologetic about being prolife. I am prolife from conception to the grave. I am prolife no matter the circumstances of how the life is conceived. I am prolife no matter the prognosis of the "quality of life" the child may or may not have! My belief and faith in a Sovereign, Loving, Merciful, Graceful God compels me to be prolife because God says all humankind is created after His image!
No, I do not speak for everyone who is a part of the Adopt-A-Cop Prayer Ministry. I am speaking of my own personal conviction because being prolife is a part of the driving force behind why I am so passionate about Adopt-A-Cop. When FIVE sheriff deputies are killed in the line of duty over a brief TWO day span, I grieve because all lives are created in the image of God!
I close by encouraging you once again to write a note, send a card, take a moment to tell a law enforcement officer that their life matters. To you and to God!
